Takes a while for the wine to give up its bouquet (lots of glass swirls required) – when it does – wow! Quite a haunting yet calm bouquet of soft, fresh, dark and darker berry fruits and loads of plum moments; a touch of bramble, lots of clay and iron like soil suggestions; plenty of oak with a toasty, vanilla and brown baking spices. On the palate – fabulous – loads of sweet plum and oak combinations, darker berry fruits emerge as well; medium acidity; medium+ (ish) weight and soft to nail point tannins; persistent and consistent finish – a balanced and well made example.
