Deep garnet colored with a touch of purple in the rim, the 2007 Ribbon Vale Cabernet Merlot displays aromas of dried Chinese plum, warm cranberries, duck fat, soy and a whiff of cedar. Structured by medium-high acidity and a medium level of finely grained tannins, this medium to full bodied wine has plenty of savory-fruit flesh to fill the mouth and linger throughout the long finish. Approachable now it should drink through 2017.
