Moss Wood 2019 Pinot Noir – Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Guide 2022
Moss Wood was one of the first in Margaret River to make a pinot noir – that was the famous 1981 vintage. This is an example of how the cooler vintages can work in favour of these varieties. Aromas of cherry with a mix of dried herbs and the faintest of forest floor nuances. The palate picks up on these and then adds more earthy vanillin flavours. It’s firmer style with some cellaring potential.
