Moss Wood 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon – Patrick Haddock, Wining Pom

While the 2006 was more restrained, this release is another gear up and was a sensory assault on the nose and palate. It delivers an ever-changing nose of black fruit, plum, cedar, chocolate and olive underpinned by some regal oak. The palate is a mesmerising mouthful of Cabernet typicity; full, generous unrelenting and persistent with blackcurrant, chocolate, cedar and dominant oak lending a spicy lift. It opens up eventually but this will safely keep for the next 15 years or more. Captivating but not for the faint hearted.
