Moss Wood 2012 Amy’s – Matthew Jukes
100 BEST AUSTRALIAN WINES 2014/15
Call the accountant and release the rainy day fund – this wine is mentally brilliant and the price is borderline absurd. I actually wrote the words ‘Clos de Marquis nose’ in my notes when I was scrawling an A4 page long, reaction to my first mouthful of this wine. Granted this is a tannic Amy’s. Yes, you will taste it, curse me and put it back in your cellar. When will it be drinking? I will drink mine from 2016. If you attempt it before then I am not liable for the expletives. When you do drink it in a few years time you will experience extraordinary levels of class and cassis intensity. In the old days this could easily have passed for the Grand Vin (q.v.). There is only one problem with 2012 Amy’s – you will have to buy this wine right now because, as always, volumes are tiddly and if you wait you will miss out and curse me again. It’s easy – those of you who have ever tasted Moss Wood and loved it (that’s all of you) should act right now.
