Ribbon Vale has finally emerged from the shadows of its illustrious parent the Merlot is one of the best from an Australian producer.
A soft and supple blended red from this rather ripe vintage that serves the two varieties so well. Bouquet of tobacco and leather with a rich underlay of blackcurrant and dark plummy fruit. The palate is supple and fleshy, with ripe tannins and neatly played oak. It is long in the mouth with a smooth, effortless finish. 93/100 (Best drinking: Now to 2021. Alc: 14%)
