The soon-to-be-released Moss Wood 2020 Chardonnay and recently released Moss Wood 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon will be featured.
MENU & WINES
A six-course menu paired with Moss Wood and Talijancich wines.
Canapés on arrival
Moss Wood Ribbon Vale 2019 Elsa
- Tuna belly salt, cured with indigenous herbs, served on rocket salad, finished with Lemon Myrtle infused Swan Valley extra virgin olive oil;
- Roast pumpkin and ginger soup topped with fresh Kytren (Gidgegannup) goat cheese, finished with thyme infused Swan Valley extra virgin olive oil;
- Homemade salt cured Guanciale mousse on crusty bread crostini.
“This is a first for Moss Wood and comes from the Ribbon Vale property. It’s sauvignon blanc made in a very modern style. The Elsa is one of the most exciting sauvignon blancs yet released. Even after I had tasted it, I couldn’t put it down.”
95 points - Ray Jordan, The West Australian
Second Course
Moss Wood 2020 Sémillon
Wild caught wood fire oven roasted local snapper with cherry tomatoes and herbs;
“It has striking depth to its supple lemongrass and white peach fruit flavours, lengthened and balanced by demure acidity.”
96 points - James Halliday, Top 100 Wines
Third Course
Moss Wood 2020 Chardonnay (pre-release) & Talijancich 2009 Reserve Verdelho
Cambray (Nannup) sheep blue cheese risotto with Pickering Brook green apple and Manjimup walnuts, finished with Tasmanian pepper;
Fourth Course
Moss Wood 2018 Pinot Noir
Local goat on the bone slowly braised with Porcini mushrooms and Manjimup truffle;
“You don’t get a lot of pinot in Margaret River, but regional pioneers Moss Wood has made it for as long as they have their more reputable cabernet and chardonnay. Dried herb, clove, cedar and minty notes and deft red fruit are combed and wrapped by a silky fine texture and refined dusty tannins.”
95 points - David Prestipino, WA Today
Fifth Course
Moss Wood 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
WA grass fed beef fillet mignon filled with Fontina cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and crumbed with Manjimup hazelnuts, roasted in the onsite wood fired oven and finished with Moss Wood 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon sauce;
“It is, without doubt, one of their greatest – dare I suggest, it might be their greatest. It is classic Moss Wood that ranks with their best. This is a glorious statement from one of the great estates in Margaret River. Is it their best? Yes.”
99 points - Ray Jordan, The West Australian
Sixth Course
Talijancich 1978 Rare Pedro Solero
Duo of Talijancich 1978 Rare Pedro infused pannacotta and Leftfield coffee chocolate mousse.

About James Talijancich & Talijancich Wines
"James and I have been friends for the best part of 30 years. We’re of similar age and we share similar wine stories. James is in a small family business, pursuing high-quality wines in styles unique to his region. He’s doing it in the Swan Valley, I’m doing it in Margaret River. All his wines are good but I’m most in awe of his muscat. That sets a standard that very few wines in WA, even the world can match. To top it off, James is quiet and unassuming and a friendlier bloke you could not meet."
