The 2021 Ribbon Vale Cabernet Sauvignon is light and fresh on the nose; it exudes raspberry pip and strawberry, cassis and bramble, with a sprinkle of garden mint and bay leaf. In the mouth, the wine is a product of the vintage, in that it is light and lacks the tannic fortitude and length of other great years around it. However, in terms of immediate drinking pleasure, the wine is classily constructed, whippy and fine, and it will satisfy many palates in the next 10 or so years. It’s another lovely wine from the Ribbon Vale vineyard. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
