Fresh, young, colour, elegant, spicy and earthy nose. Great potential with an elegant balanced palate. Clever use of oak with a lovely cab finish. and Deep purple in colour with big aroma on the nose. Tannic in the mouth but packed with fruit. This is a very easy-drinking style of wine.

Top 100 The Weekend Australian, 20-21 November 2004 There is no doubt the 2001 vintage in Margaret River was outstanding, as even the normal hard to please Keith Mugford is happy to admit. Spotlessly clean this is a gorgeous, silky wine flooded with redcurrant, cassis and blackcurrant fruit in a…

Brambles, black and red currants, leaf and coffee are the defining characters of a tight and refined bouquet. The palate opens out into similar fruits with herbaceous, leafy undertones, fine, firm tannins and tight acidity. The French Oak plays a supporting role behind the fruit. This is a tightly-wound, black-currant-fruited…

100 Top New Release Wines – page 140 – December/January 2006 issue A much lighter, more elegant wine than the whopper ’01, this is a beautiful, subtle, cool-year cabernet full of raspberry, mint and cassis flavours – ripe, intense and complete. Good drinking now or in the next 15+ years.…

Perhaps the best young wine I’ve tasted from Margaret River, this makes a compelling case for the region’s Cabernet. Pure cassis fruit is lifted and framed by hints of toasted cedar, making for soaring aromatics and flavors, but what sets this wine apart is the tender, silky texture married to…

Polished, with a deft balance to the café au lait and currant flavors, coming together on the refined finish. This has depth and personality, and should develop even more with cellaring. Best from 2013 through 2020. 50 cases imported.

The Moss Wood Cabernets are typically full-bodied and rather lush, and the 2008 is no exception. The tannins are fully ripe, giving the impression of great suppleness in the mouth, while the flavors blend plummy, fruity elements with meaty, savory ones. The finish is long and harmonious, suggesting ample longevity,…

Chill Factor Fresh – 20 May 2004 Moss Wood Amy’s Vineyard cabernet sauvignon 2002 This is quite atypically Moss Wood compared with the traditional style from the Metricup vineyard. Cabernet Sauvignon. Underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks, then racked to barrels. Sterile filtered and bottled on 16 October, 2012. Savoury and a little dry and very slightly austere on the finish. Top-flight Oz claret that is nearly ready. (3 Oct 2013)

Black cherry colour. Ripe, very dark fruit. Rich and spicy and powerful, still so young. Dense, compact with firm spicy tannins. Strong family likeness with the Pinot 2010 even though the varieties are of course completely different. Fine, tightly furled tannins and nowhere near ready for drinking (in Jan 2014).…

I just love this semillon. lt is so light and fragrant, yet with a driving inner intensity of lemony fruit. lt’s medium-bodied with a crunchy, sweet fruit character balanced by a fine, persistent acidity on the finish. Lip-smacking and beautiful texture at the same time. This is the result of…
