Tasting Notes
Classic strawberry and plum characters with overtones of dark cherries and some spiciness: flavours that the Burgundians call ‘briary’. A cross between lapsang tea and spicy sausages that have been cooked on a woodfired BBQ. This wine has a much finer texture and higher, more obvious or more assertive acidity than the Margaret River pinots.

Vintage Notes
From the 1993 vintage Moss Wood selected fruit from the Smithbrook Vineyard for the Pemberton Pinot Noir. This property was carefully selected and initially developed by Moss Wood founder Bill Pannell. Bill has since moved on and is developing another vineyard call Picardy. Smithbrook is run under the direction of viticulturist Phillip May.

Cellaring Notes
Will benefit from short term bottle aging and should still be drinking well at the turn of the century
